Guesthouse
The Pousada Alto do Cajueiro (guesthouse) is distant less than 10
minutes walking from the historical center of Lençóis city in a
great green area, with a panoramic view of the city and the Sincorá
Mountains. The Guesthouse integrates the nature with charm,
quietness and comfort, being distinguished for its details such as
rustic, bilingual and customized assistance.
Guest accommodations
Our 10 guestrooms have ceiling-fans and private bathrooms. Six of
them overlook a green area, two of them overlook Serra do Sincorá
and the town of Lençóis, and two rooms lead to a relaxation area
with a fridge, TV, DVD and, as an added convenience, a unique view
of Lençóis.
Ammenities
Our lodge has four balconies with hammocks, an area for
get-togethers where guests will find a wood-burning oven, and a
garden with a great variety of tropical plants, where one can see
humming-birds among other species, which provides an integration
between man and nature.
Environmental issues
The Pousada Alto do Cajueiro has a proper policy concerning the
disposal of solid, organic, liquid, and contaminated waste.
Solid waste (paper, tin, plastic substances) is destined for
recycling, organic waste (food left-overs) is kept in a compost-heap
and turned into fertilizer to be used in the garden; part of the
liquid waste (bath-water) undergo a sedimentation process and is
partly used for irrigation and partly conveyed to the system of
sewers to be treated by the proper governmental agency. Contaminated
waste is collected by theTown’s garbage removal service.
The guesthouse also encourages and contributes to solve social
problems in Lençóis and in the outskirts, especially educational
problems. All guests, Brazilians and foreigners, are asked for
donations of school material upon reservation. The material is taken
straight to poor communities, especially “Vila do Remanso”.
Further services
The Pousada Alto do Cajueiro offers laundry service and parking.
Meals or snacks orders are accepted and groups are welcome. Booking
and preparation of tours are also offered together with Brasil by
Bike, the first bike station in Brasil.
Besides boarding, the Pousada Alto do Cajueiro with the Brazil by
Bike also offer special tours to the main attractions of the Chapada
Diamantina as well adventure sports, such as rides on bikes and
kayaks and off-road trekking. All this with bilingual guides and
personalized service.
